Western Australia has three separate regions: The Great Plateau which includes 90 percent of the land surface, the Coastal Plains which cling to the edge and the Scarplands in between.

Some of the major attractions include the spectacular wildflowers in the South that carpet the countryside in the spring, for those who enjoy fine wine the Darling Range is home to lush vineyards and one should not miss the opportunity to visit Rottnest Island. The western coastline offers hundreds of kilometres of unspoiled coastline with startling white sand and crystal clear waters. For the more adventurous try a 4WD safari towards the Gibson Desert and the dry red heart of Australia.

Because of the sheer size physical size of the state, touring by car alone is only for those who have the time and are properly equipped. the distances are too long and the journeys too difficult. Western Australia is best explored by air and hire
