It includes the Hunter Valley and its world famous vineyards, Port Stephens, Forster and the Holiday Coast, Port Macquarie, the Coffs Coast, Byron Bay and the far north coast the Northern Rivers tourist regions. Inland are the wine trails from Pokolbin in the Lower Hunter Valley, through Denman in the Upper Hunter and onto Mudgee and Orange in the Central West of NSW. Travelling north takes you through the Central Tablelands, Tamworth and the Northern Tablelands, Armidale and Glen Innes. In the pristine surf beaches, unspoilt rainforest and wild rivers, you'll discover a very special part of New South Wales. Among the rugged headlands, sheltered bays and beaches you'll find colourful resorts where you can stroll from the sand to a stylish beachfront cafe and secluded coves where the rainforest meets the sea. Inland in the Hunter & Upper Hunter Valley as well as vineyards are horse studs, which are major tourist attractions. Six of Australia's precious World Heritage Listed areas can be found here, as well as dozens of smaller parks, nature reserves, rainforest remnants and State Forests.
